Snake Plant

Scientific Name: Sansevieria trifasciata. Often known as mother-in-law’s tongue.

Special Features: Purifies the air, super easy to grow. Low water needs. Require less fertilizer .Prefers bright light and even some direct sunlight, but also grows well in shady corners .Use well-draining potting mix soil. A succulent mix is ideal.

Health Benefits: Snake Plant absorbs harmful pollutants (Benzene, Ozone, Toulene, Xylene, Formaldehyde and Trichloroethylene) from indoor air and provides fresh air. It absorbs CO2 in the night. Decreases the odds of airborne allergies.

Characteristics: In its native habitat, plant foliage may rise to as much as 4' tall, but is often smaller (to 2' tall) on indoor plants. Erect, fleshy, sharply-pointed, sword-shaped leaves are deep green with light gray-green horizontal stripes. Leaves rise stiffly in a rosette from a thick rhizome.
